Did I Get the Best LEGO Movie 2 Sets?

Reading Time: 3 minutes

My first LEGO Movie 2 sets! Did I make the right choice? There are some great sets that LEGO has released for this movie. I like a lot of them and will get more. But thought I’d start with these ones now they’re out in Australia. But did I get the right ones first? One Exception: LEGO Movie 2: Apocalypseburg – 70840!

The LEGO Movie 2 sets have been delayed here in Australia to coincide with the delayed movie release. Unless you wanted to pay full price on LEGO’s website. And you all know I love to find a bargain where I can!

So with them hitting the shelves, I timed my trip to two shops perfectly and had my pick of the sets! I will confess though, I wish I’d bought two of one of them – see if you can guess which one…

The First choice for the LEGO Movie 2 sets was Emmet and Benny’s ‘Build and Fix’ Workshop! – 70821. I really like the look of this set and it nods to the classic LEGO Space theme. But, this is a 4+ LEGO set, which I bought it to build with my budding master builder, Joss! She’s gonna explode when she sees it!

Next up on my LEGO Movie 2 setlist, there could be only one choice… Benny’s Space Squad – 70841! What a fantastically sized and thought out set! I love the selection of figures and those classic vehicles. Again, a perfect nod to the Classic LEGO Space theme!

And finally, my almost-but-not-quite favourite but not quite retro enough, but still sort of Classic LEGO City looking is Emmet’s Dream House/Rescue Rocket! – 70831! This set looks amazing in rocket and house form! This is LEGO Creativity at it’s absolute finest. And you get two sets for the price of one sort of. Brilliant!

Don’t worry, The Apocalypseburg set (70840) is a must-have for our collection! Keep an eye out for that one coming soon!

So I ask you, did I make a good first choice for the LEGO Movie 2 sets or should I have gone with something more whacky like Emmet’s Thricycle. Perhaps one of Rex’s sets – I do love Rex’s Rexplorer, if for nothing else but Blue Raptors! And then there’s the Party Bus. What a ridiculously fun set! I know that will be a big hit in our house!

Let me know what you think of these along with suggestions for the next one(s) to get and don’t forget to like it!
