Harry Potter LEGO Hogwarts Express Unboxing and Review! (Set 75955)

November 17, 2018 By GJBricks Leave a Comment

Reading Time: 2 minutes

All aboard the Hogwarts Express! Now reviewing from platform 9 and 3/4. Travelling via Unboxing, Speed Build and 360 VR Spin!

This is the 2018 LEGO Hogwarts Express 75955, and it’s finally arrived in the shops here in Australia – Believe it or not, it was meant to be a Toys R’Us exclusive here so other retailers only just got it. But boy was it worth the wait!

About this LEGO Review

The train itself has really benefitted from the LEGO Creator line and feels like there’s a bit of the Emerald Night Influence going on in this LEGO train’s design. And it looks splendid for it! What a magnificent train!

Carrying on the passenger car, LEGO has really focused on making this a play set for the kids. With it opening up not only on top but having a fully removable side. This gives really easy access to the 4 seats inside and gives space for the trolley witch and her chocolate frogs!

Kings Cross itself, complete with platform 9 & 3/4, is designed for play and display. Build as a 1 and 1/3 platforms and featuring the magic wall that you have to run through to get to the platform. It’s got loads of nice details such as the wanted poster of the Prisoner of Azkaban and two copies of the Daily Prophet. There’s also a footbridge over the platform for the passengers to watch the train pulling in from. As well as know the time thanks to a grand clock.

The Minifigures

Coming with 6 minifgures, there are so many Stories that can be told from the Harry Potter universe with this set. You get the main 3rd year students of Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. They all sport the shorter leg moulds (not bendable) and have two-sided heads. Hermione also gets a superb hairpiece.

For the adult figures, we have the Trolley Witch I mentioned before, along with Remus Lupin who sports a werewolf expression as his B-Side head. And then finally we have the amazing Dementor who is just spectacular! I believe first seen in the LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean Silent Mary Set 71402.

Overall I love this set! But watch the video to get my full impressions!

Let me know in the comments what you think along with suggestions when you’ve finished watching the video and don’t forget to like it!

I hope you enjoyed my unboxing speed build review. Make sure to subscribe to my YouTube channel and give this video some love!
