Joss Builds the LEGO Movie 2 Emmet and Benny’s ‘Build and Fix’ Workshop! 70821. This was one of the sets from my first LEGO Movie haul bought for Joss to build. Did she like it? You can see her amazing reaction in the video!

This video is all about the joy of building LEGO with your kids and how much they enjoy the interaction with their parents!

The LEGO Movie 2, “Emmet and Benny’s ‘Build and Fix’ Workshop!” set 70821is a 4+ set. What that means is that there are a few larger parts to help them understand what is happening without having to build a complex chassis, for example.

We had so much fun doing this LEGO Build together and you can see how much she does herself. It’s really amazing to watch and be part of! I really hope this video makes you as happy as it made me!

Don’t forget to say Hi to Joss in the comments and don’t forget to like it!

DIY LEGO Hack: How to make LEGO Train Junctions go “Outward” #tutorial

March 2, 2019 By GJBricks Leave a Comment

Reading Time: 3 minutes

LEGO Train Junction Outward Hack – yes, this is a way to make LEGO City Train Junctions go outwards instead of inwards which saves you precious LEGO City building space!

You may have seen my previous video, LEGO Train Junctions Shorter Crossover Hack, that I’m not afraid to injure some LEGO Track in the interest of saving some precious LEGO City build space. You can watch that video here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIvX7dVKofw

This hack takes that idea a step further and was something that was suggested on Facebook based on the idea of cutting the track in a couple of strategic spots. What you be doing is taking the bit you removed from the left junction and putting in on a right LEGO Train Junction, and vice-versa. Doing that, your left junction then exits left, rather than sort of straight.

Why would you want to do this? It saves sooooo much space! Seriously! This is why 4DBrix and TrixBrix exist. They sell a version of this idea for this exact reason. OK, their method doesn’t involve cutting track as they use 3D Printing. And one other thing… This is not something you can undo. It is a permanent change to the track. The aftermarket ones can be changed freely.

This opens up a lot of opportunity such as a much denser train yard for example (something I’m very keen on! You can also do things like creating a neat crossover point – I’ll show that in some photos on my website.

Let me know in the comments what you think of this LEGO Hack. Is it going too far or is it something you’ve always wished you could do? Don’t forget to like and share it too!

And if you haven’t already, hit the subscribe button and turn on the “bell” to get the latest updates and see what I’ve been up to!

Also, I have shown clear where to cut in the video, and am not responsible if you don’t follow those guides.

LEGO CITY UPDATE: Was that a zombie? 🧟‍♀️

February 16, 2019 By GJBricks Leave a Comment

Reading Time: 2 minutes

LEGO CITY UPDATE: Was that a zombie? This week’s update is focused on planning and minor detailing. And not to mention there may have been a zombie sighting near the hospital… Eek!

First things first. The biggest update here has to be Joss’ LEGO Sculptures by the tunnel! For those that don’t know, that’s a reference to Sydney’s Sculptures by the Sea event that’s held yearly.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=etRYX0h91DY

Secondly, we have Bob from Robin Hull joins us with his biscuits at 06:28. Hanging out with Dr McBrick and BrickBakery!
https://www.youtube.com/user/Meathead1962

My main focus has been on building lately. If you’ve been following recently, you’ll know I’ve been building LEGO Ninjago City 70620. And, I think I’ve nailed how that and the docks are going to work together!

But, more importantly, I have – what I think – is a great idea for how the Studsburg Ninjago District is going to work! And boy am I excited to tell you.

Otherwise, lots of little updates. The beginnings of a market is starting to form on the promenade. I think that’s going to be a lot of fun – and a lot of parts. There’s also a crazy science experiment starting out near observation point.

Let me know what you think along with suggestions when you’ve finished watching the video and don’t forget to like it!

And if you haven’t already, hit the subscribe button and turn on the “bell” to get the latest updates and see what I’ve been up to!

Custom LEGO MOC builds by Joss

February 16, 2019 By GJBricks Leave a Comment

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Custom LEGO MOC builds by Joss is hot on the heels of her last appearance, she’s been itching to make another video, so here we are with some more of her never-ending stream of creativity!

Maybe I should make the initials on the channel mean Greg & Joss Bricks? What do you think?

She’s made 3 MOCs this time for putting in the LEGO City of Studsburg. The first reminds me of something out of Minecraft for some reason. Think it’s the choice of colours and layering she’s used. But I think it’s kind of call and a whole new level of cute!

Next up comes a clear plastic, sculpture, thing. That you can hold upside down. It’s important to note that all of the LEGO MOC creations have had the upside down test! That seems to be a thing of hers whenever she’s building LEGOS!

And the last one features what seems to be 3 masts and looks so cute.

Joss is so proud of what’s she’s made and I think she’s a real natural behind the camera. I just have to help her lighten up a bit as there’s an element of newsreader going on here!

Let me know what you think along with suggestions when you’ve finished watching the video and don’t forget to like it!

And if you haven’t already, hit the subscribe button and turn on the “bell” to get the latest updates and see what I’ve been up to!

Introducing a future LEGO Master Builder!

February 9, 2019 By GJBricks Leave a Comment

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Introducing a future LEGO Master Builder! This is my eldest and she’s been asking to start doing videos for the channel with me. Good to know she has LEGO in here genes already! We’re going to play with some of her own MOC builds, and some builds we’ve done together for the LEGO City Update videos recently.

So this is her first video and she’s 4 and a half but loves to talk and loves to perform to her friends at school.

In this video, we’ll first show her LEGO Ghost Trap MOC that was inspired by her love of Ghostbusters and our recent build of the LEGO Firehouse Headquarters.

Next, we’ll show you Unikitty’s home in the LEGO City of Studsburg. It’s one of the builds from the LEGO Classic Creative Builder Box 10703. We love it and it reminded us of Emmet’s Dream House 70831 from the LEGO Movie 2.

And 3rd, she build a treasure island that will be finding a home in the upcoming LEGO Harbour we have planned.

To top it off, we show you how to play with the LEGO Ghostbusters Firsehouse Headquarters!

Let me know what you think along with suggestions when you’ve finished watching the video and don’t forget to like it!

And if you haven’t already, hit the subscribe button and turn on the “bell” to get the latest updates and see what I’ve been up to!

LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters Review (75827)

February 5, 2019 By GJBricks Leave a Comment

Reading Time: 2 minutes

LEGO Ghostbusters Firehouse Headquarters Unboxing, Speed Build and Review (75827). This is a set I’ve wanted since the day it was announced, and I was lucky enough to get one in a crazy deal. This is my Unboxing, Speed Build and Review of the LEGO Ghostbusters set.

This set was released way back in 2016 and has been available for 2 years. Unfortunately, LEGO recently retired the set so the last few sets have been flying off the shelves – at least here in Australia where you can’t get it for RRP anymore.

It comes in at a whopping 4,634 parts and it certainly feels like it’s that big from the very beginning. Unboxing it, the bags just keep going, and going! Which is awesome! The bang for your buck here is amazing!

Including 10 minifigures as well – all exclusive to this set – it is immense! And I’m pleased to report I finally have a driver for the cab that came with my LEGO Spider-Man: Web Warriors Ultimate Bridge (76057).

The build is amazing and full Kudos to the LEGO designers for making this a really fun, broken up build! There’s a lot of stuff that could have been repetitive but was broken up well!

Let me know what you think of this set in the comments and don’t forget to like it!

And if you haven’t already, hit the subscribe button and turn on the “bell” to get the latest LEGO updates and see what I’ve been up to!
