Series 9 of the LEGO Bricklink Designer Program is officially open, and what a lineup! There’s a sprawling fishing village, a cosy-looking inn, a wild west blacksmith, a freight depot for the train fans (hi, that’s me!) and a little pumpkin patch for anyone watching their wallet.
LEGO Bricklink Designer Program (BDP) Series 9 pre-orders are open now and close on 12 October 2026, or sooner if the sets sell out. The five sets are 910069 Fisherman’s Village, 910070 Sleepy Dragon Inn, 910071 Wild West Blacksmith, 910072 Woodbrick Freight Depot and 910073 Pumpkin Patch, priced from AU$79.99 to AU$549.99. A set needs 3,000 pre-orders to go into production, and orders are expected to ship around March 2027.
So which ones are worth your money? Let’s dive in.

How does Bricklink Designer Program crowdfunding work?
BDP sets are made only if enough people back them, so this isn’t a normal shelf release. Here’s what you need to know:
- Pre-orders close on 12 October 2026, or when a set sells out.
- A set needs 3,000 pre-orders to be officially produced.
- Each set is capped at 30,000 units, with a limit of two per household.
- Your card is charged and the sets ship around March 2027, so this is a long wait.
- Production numbers are dynamic for Series 9. If a set is flying, Bricklink can raise its cap by shifting capacity from slower sellers, so you don’t need to panic. I’d still lock in anything you really want before the window closes!
910069 Fisherman’s Village (4,027 pieces, AU$549.99)
This is the biggest and most expensive set in Series 9, so it’s the one for anyone who wants a serious display piece. At AU$549.99 it’s a big ask, but the price per piece is in line with the other large sets, so you’re not paying a premium for the name. [ADD: one detail from the official images, such as the minifigure count or a standout feature.]
910070 Sleepy Dragon Inn (3,121 pieces, AU$429.99)
The second-largest set in the series, and the one I suspect will be a crowd favourite. It sits in the middle of the price range, which makes it an easier decision than the Fisherman’s Village while still giving you a big build. [ADD: one detail from the official images, such as the interior or the minifigures.]
910071 Wild West Blacksmith (2,533 pieces, AU$349.99)
At AU$349.99 this is the first set in the lineup that feels like a “treat yourself” purchase rather than a major investment. It has the same price as the Woodbrick Freight Depot but 281 more pieces. [ADD: one detail from the official images.]
910072 Woodbrick Freight Depot (2,252 pieces, AU$349.99)
The Freight Depot is the one I’m ordering, and I’ll explain why in the next section. On numbers alone it works out to about 15.5 cents per piece, the highest in the series, so it’s the one where you’re paying a bit more per brick. [ADD: one detail from the official images.]
910073 Pumpkin Patch (614 pieces, AU$79.99)
The cheapest way into Series 9, and at about 13 cents per piece it’s also the best value in the lineup. If you want to try a BDP set without a big commitment, start here. It ships around March, which is autumn here in Australia, so the timing works nicely for a pumpkin display! [ADD: one detail from the official images.]
My pick: why I’m pre-ordering the Woodbrick Freight Depot
As you all know, I’m a huge LEGO train fan, so 910072 Woodbrick Freight Depot is an absolute must-order for me! At 2,252 pieces, it’s going to be a fantastic addition to my layout, and a natural partner for the shipping containers I’ve been building for my own cargo scenes. It’s the priciest of the five per piece, but for a build this well suited to a train layout, I’m happy to pay for it.
But let me know in the comments which one is your favourite!
