LEGO Train Irish Rail 29000 DMU MOC by Tom E

Standard LEGO trains are 6 wide. But when you adopt a 7 wide build technique, something like this amazing Irish Rail 29000 DMU MOC by Flickr user Tom E happen!

I just love the way he’s used SNOT techniques all-around to give it a perfect shape. And then inset the doors to complete the look, even down to the steps underneath them.

Personally, I think he’s created a really interesting design and then to save space, he’s gone with the 9V motor (they are powered through the track).

Let me know in the comments what you think of this fabulous LEGO Train Moc. And be sure to go and check out Tom E’s profile.

Thanks for the review! I only put in the 9v motor because currently stud.io doesn’t seem to have part bb0896c01, the Powered Up motor from recent train sets such as 60197, which appears to be the same size.

Ah, that makes sense! Glad you liked the share. Was a superb pair of designs. Have you built them yet?

Not yet, got a few other projects ahead in the build queue! Originally I was only planning to make the green version; the older lime, white and dark blue livery was an afterthought. Remains to be seen whether both types will make it into real bricks!
