Original LEGO Jurassic Park set revealed plus another Fallen Kingdom set

March 21, 2018 By GJBricks Leave a Comment

Reading Time: 3 minutes

After LEGO revealed a already rather good lineup, that you can read my thoughts in my LEGO Jurassic World 2 article, they’ve gone and released details of two more including [finally] an original LEGO Jurassic Park set!

In the second release that occurred a few days after the first – I’m late on writing about this – there’s two sets. The Brother’s Brick have a detailed article with lots of pictures of the sets I’ve covered below.

Disclaimer: The Jurassic Park Movie and original book are two of my all time favourites so seeing them in LEGO is GREAT news!

This first set is based on the visitor centre and includes all the major small rooms from the movie. The small rooms being key there as the atrium that both welcomes them and sends them on their way is not included. Future set?

In the set we’ve got the control room which is the main focus and can be seen here with Lex hacking the computers. It features a map of the park, the phones, a ladder for escaping through the [not included] roof hatch, a breakable window for the raptors to break through and a surprising number of small references to the movie. Oh, and the door has an oversized version of the door locks from the movie to keep the raptors out.

A smaller room to the side is the freezer with the embryos. Not a huge amount happening in that room but it clearly resembles the one from the film.

And finally the kitchen. It’s well stocked with utensils and features a cupboard for Tim to hide in. Amusingly it includes the obligatory Jurassic World Sausage.

The set includes Alan, Ellie, Tim and Lex and one Raptor. There’s a quite a lot going on in this little play set and you get a lot from the 360 pieces it includes! Can’t wait to get my hands on it.

This is based on a part of the movie we’ve not yet seen in the Jurassic World:Fallen Kingdom trailers – or some creative license as they weren’t in the first movie. Focused on everyone’s favourite spitting dinosaurs, the set features a ‘secure’ fence with exploding gates.

There’s a lot going on again with a good selection of mini-figures, a Dilophosaurus model and what is either a baby raptor or perhaps a Compy (which I think is more likely).

The play-set features a feeding crane similar to the one in the Indominus Rex Breakout set. Besides the exploding gate, there’s an exploding wall and a host of accessories.

It looks like the next Jurassic World movie is going to be well catered for by LEGO! You can read more on The Brother’s Brick.
