LEGO MOC – 1967 Mini Cooper S Rally to Essex Boy Cooper S! (75894)

September 4, 2021 By GJBricks Leave a Comment

Reading Time: 2 minutes

I’m a big fan of the 1967 Mini Cooper S Rally that came in set 75894. So much so that I decided to make it again in grey (the don’t make two of the parts it needs in dark green, or it would have been that). But I wasn’t happy with how it looked, so here’s how I modified the design to make me feel more at home in my native Essex. Bring on the Essex Boy Cooper S!

LEGO Haul: Let’s get Technic-al

June 26, 2021 By GJBricks Leave a Comment

Reading Time: 2 minutes

It’s been a while since I’ve done a parts haul, and for this one, I thought I’d get a bit Technic-al. Ok, LEGO Technic jokes aside this was a parts order to bulk up my limited parts in this area and so I can start to add movement to my Pirates of Barracuda Bay rollercoaster.

La Guillotine Pirate LEGO Theme Park Ride #shorts

May 15, 2021 By GJBricks Leave a Comment

Reading Time: < 1 minute

As part of my LEGO Pirates of Barracuda Bay I’m working on a town area. In there, I plan to feature some theme park inspired builds. This Drop Tower – La Guillotine – is an example of those builds. There is a full video that goes with this in which I show details of how it works and how it’s been built: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83OGrAVKmuI

This design is very compact and designed to support all 4 sides having minifigures on them. I’ve opted for only one side as it worked better with the design of the area. La Guillotine I know is slightly morbid, but in this case, it’s the perfect thing. I did consider using cannons as the theme, but it just doesn’t work well.
