This is a Stargate SG-1 inspired LEGO MOC. I built the gate a while back but never really “completed” the scene. Now I have and I’m really happy with it! The ramp works well I think. But, making it an odd number of studs was not originally planned but I feel it really added to the look of the build and makes it way more interesting that than being 6 or 4 wide as I’d originally considered.
And if you look at the control panel, it’s done using handcuffs and a wheel clip. Now I’m not sure if that’s a legal or illegal build technique, but I like how it came out!
One other thing in this build is the trees. The one on the left uses some lego techniques I haven’t tried before but figured out based on a couple of examples I found online. I like how it gives them shape and angle that really brings them to life.
Why a Stargate MOC?
I’ve always been a fan of Stargate. From that original Stargate movie to the awesome Stargate SG-1 TV show. So at some point I was looking at parts I had and thought this was a really cool thing to build from what I had. Then I got thinking “What if they could be portals to other LEGO cities?”. That’s not as crazy as it sounds and I’ll do a video on how to build one of these LEGO Moc portals!
