About the LEGO Hogwarts Express Collectors' Edition (76405):
The magic of the Harry Potter stories with a buildable, 1:32 scale replica of the most iconic vehicle in the Wizarding World. LEGO Harry Potter Hogwarts Express – Collectors' Edition (76405) is a spectacular build-and-display project for adult Harry Potter enthusiasts, which will enchant all who see it.

The engine features a detailed underside and a lever on the top that causes the train to rock with the motion of a steam train. A tender carries the engine’s supply of coal. The passenger carriage comprises 3 compartments, each depicting a classic scene: when Harry, Ron, and Hermione meet in the series’ first film; when Professor Lupin saves Harry from the Dementor™ in the third film; and when Luna saves Harry from Draco's spell in the sixth film. The model also depicts Platform 9¾ at King’s Cross Station, where the adult Harry and Ginny wait with their children, Lily, James, and Albus, ready for Albus’s first trip aboard the amazing Hogwarts Express.

About this LEGO Set
The LEGO City Express Passenger Train set (60337) includes a remote-controlled bullet locomotive with working, dimmable headlights and LEGO Powered Up technology, a dining car, passenger car, station platform, 24 track pieces and 6 minifigures for endless hours of toy train-themed role play.

About this LEGO Tutorial
In this video, I explain to you exactly what a Jacobs bogie is and then I will show the parts and process required to make the bogie I have created. The process is fairly straightforward and the parts list is included. A tutorial shows you the steps involved and the final outcome of that process. Which is the LEGO City Express Passenger Train with some - in my not-at-all biased opinion - kick-ass jacobs bogies!

What is a Jacobs Bogie?
Jacobs bogies are placed between two carriages with the weight of each carriage being spread across the single Jacobs bogie. By setting the carriages up this way, it smooths the ride of bogie carriages and adds less weight and drag to the train.

It's been 6 years since we last had a LEGO train station in the form of the 60050 Train Station. Was it worth the wait? You bet it was! This is a fantastic set! In fact, it's so good my kids took it to play with before I could review it and misplaced one of the minifigures. Little stinkers! But it was worth it watching them set up the LEGO trains and add in their own station LEGO Moc to complement this one.

We have set 60335 which is the new train station - we've not had a station for 4 years!. Then 60336 is the freight train and finally, 60337 is the Passenger Train - which seems to take some inspiration from the legendary Horizon Express. In this video, I will give you my thoughts but I'd love to know yours in the comments!

Reading Time: 3 minutesI've made a lot of changes to my LEGO City 60197 passenger train, but it's one of these sets that cries out to be modified. I wanted to make it feel more finished and also worthy of running next to the Horizon Express.

In this upgraded version of the LEGO City Train 60197, everything is lengthened to 28 studs (to match the horizon express). The exterior of all carriages feels more finished and has some little finishing details. And inside the passenger and buffet cars, I've added a lot of details that make this feel more like a LEGO Creator set than a city set.

The passenger car now has a bag holder, a drinking fountain and the most important thing, a toilet! Additionally, the seating arrangement has been changed and the dining table modified to fit the space better and give the passengers more space. Oh, and the end of each carriage now has doors.

With the dining car, I always felt the dining car that came with the train was rather lame. It was just a 4 wide counter with a screen. It worked but really was meh. So, I've turned it 90 degrees and lengthened it making it feel more like a real train canteen - and that it could service the whole train. Oh, and the end of each carriage now has doors as well.

But I had 2 problems with it. First, it doesn't fit Speed Champions cars. Second, it was a bit basic. So here's how I've built my LEGO moc with horizontal brushes, sprays, a dryer that moves with the car. And most importantly, takes Speed Champions cars!

P.S. Don't worry, I don't sing Car Wash by Rose Royce in the video, promise. But here's a link if you want to have it stuck in your head too! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3v8I5egzoMo

========

About this Video:
Why build a working LEGO City Car wash? Honestly, because the engineering in them has always fascinated me from an early age. That, and it's a lot of fun to see the cars going through.

There were quite a few challenges - not having the right parts being one - such as how and where to level the horizontal brush so it doesn't hit anything.

That rear dryer took a few versions to get right and make compact (and heavy enough) to make it work in the space. The dryer is connected to a large ventilation fan via a hose. It does look like there's an issue with the ventilation fan, but luckily the series 22 Robot Repair Tech Minifigure is there working on it!

Then all the little details like the hose and foam sprays at the front. All in all, it was a fun little project that I just had to tackle as it had been sitting on my desk calling to me to "fix" it!

I hope you enjoy it and this will be added to my soon to be updated Intergalactic Car & Spaceship Service Station LEGO City MOC: https://youtu.be/x9GXLj5EPLg

10:02 Final thoughts

========

About this Video:
This moc is an upgrade of my previous lighthouse moc. I wanted to add in more detail and a side building. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=esjCkYP4y7g

One of the building blocks for the idea for this LEGO MOC was the inclusion of Bro Thor's Apartment (set 76200). In the movies it on rocks near the ocean, so I thought why not put it on an island! But I needed to model the interior properly and close the 2 open sides off, so it now has a bed and a kitchen.

Above it is the original Lighthouse Keepers cottage from LEGO Creator Set 31051. And that conveniently has an outdoor Dunny (above Thor's window 😉). One area I put a lot of work into was the flora over that top area and the rocks surrounding Thor's cabin. I had to work within the limits of the space but I think it came out well.

The Lighthouse tower itself is on the next island and for that, I'm rather proud of the curved staircase I built in the rocks leading up to the tower. I think they came out very well. The lighthouse itself is almost untouched except for another layer of bricks in each level and one extra level of colour.

In the rest of the scene, there is a small mooring for the LEGO Hidden Side Fishing Boat and the whole scene is designed to connect the amazing LEGO Ideas Fishing Shore (21310).

As you can tell, I put a lot of time into this MOC and I hope it shows!

About this video
This is a super simple tutorial that shows you how to build these simple LEGO Furniture display cabinets. I originally built them to be used in the Ground floor of my Sanctum Sanctorum to reflect the ones seen in the various Spider-man and Marvel movies.

I've furnished mine with a Ninjago Sword, Star Wars Stormtrooper helmet, some potions, a magic floating key. But you can add whatever your want.
